Strike a Pose was a pop up outdoor performance rolling out the red carpet for a cast of non-professional performers aged 50+ as they harnessed the energy of catwalk and voguing culture, being bold, proud and loud. Commissioned by Yorkshire Dance for Ageless Festival 2022, and inspired by an idea from the formidable TC Howard, the project harnessed the spirit of inspirational octogenarians like Vivienne Westwood, Diana Ross and Tina Turner. We brought together a group of fabulous dancers from across Leeds to defy ageism and strut their stuff on the red carpet in various locations including Briggate and Kirkgate market.
